Create Fest at Redeemer Presbyterian Church - Event Photos

Each summer, Redeemer Presbyterian Church puts on Camp Create, a four day art camp for rising 1st through 3rd grade students who reside in or attend school in Midtown Memphis. It’s one of the most important weeks in the life of the church and wouldn’t happen without countless volunteers and neighbors participating.

Children receive formal art instruction Monday through Thursday with professional local artists and also enjoy music, games, snacks, and more. Thursday evening wraps up with Create Fest, a big block party to celebrate everything the kids created!

I’m currently working with Redeemer on a new website, banner video, and core photo assets. Part of this includes capturing images of events like Create Fest. Here are a few of my favorites.

Redeemer sits at the corner of South Cooper Street and Cowden Avenue in the heart of Midtown Memphis. The church regularly celebrates the arts, so I took a more artistic approach in my photography by dialing in on a look inspired by Kodak Portra 400 film, capturing nostalgic warmth, elevated highlights, and extra fine grain.

Most photos can be used on their own in social media posts, the new website, and email updates, with some shot with extra room so copy can be easily layered on. This gives Redeemer needed flexibility in their communications around Create Fest for the next few years.

Many churches, small businesses, and nonprofits overlook keeping core photo assets like these up to date. It’s a wise investment that saves you time and money over the long haul and helps keep your communications elevated.
