Relay for St. Jude Podcastathon 2025
With podcasts covering technology and creativity, Relay brings together some of the most influential and unique voices on the internet to create powerful podcast episodes each and every week.
The company is also a major supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital here in Memphis, TN. Each September, Relay’s show hosts mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by discussing St. Jude and its lifesaving work. To end the month, Relay founders Myke and Stephen join a rotating panel of guests in Memphis to host the Podcastathon for St. Jude, a 12-hour live video show dedicated to raising awareness and funds for research, care, and treatment.
Relay’s community has raised over $4.8 million for the hospital’s lifesaving work since 2019. The past few years I’ve joined Relay to capture candid, behind-the-scenes photos of this special event. Some of my favorite photos from this year’s Podcastathon are below, as well as a few details on my approach.
The venue has vibrant colors, excellent lighting, and plenty of shadow areas to play with. Clean and basic photos would have looked fine, but I saw an opportunity to make the images really pop. So I dialed in on a look inspired by Kodak Portra 400 film to capture nostalgic warmth, elevated highlights, and a beautiful bit of grain. The results speak for themselves.
Relay’s hosts and listeners raised over $750,000 for St. Jude this year. It’s a wonderful cause and I’m grateful to have been invited to document this year’s Podcastathon.
