Second Baptist Church - Pumpkin Patch Video & Photos

Since 2004, Second Baptist Church Memphis has hosted a pumpkin patch to help fundraise for mission trips, local youth activities and schools, and food for the hungry. The month-long patch is now a staple of the East Memphis community and has grown to include games, child story times, free family photo areas, a hay ride, and more!

The event has been so successful that it became the beginning for what would eventually be The Front Porch, a place where people can gather year-round with their friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

Earlier this year I built a new website and captured core visuals for Second Baptist. They recently had me back out to capture the warmth and welcoming environment of the pumpkin patch, both video and photo. I dropped in a few different times to catch everything. The video can be seen above and some of my favorite photos are below.

The Pumpkin Patch sits in Second Baptist’s front yard, easily accessible from Walnut Grove and just across the driveway from The Front Porch. My approach was to capture the bright, early Fall feel of what the patch feels like paired with some of the finer details in the most natural and authentic way possible.

Most photos can be used on their own or incorporated into social media posts with copy layered on top. I took some that are crafted for one or the other though. This gives Second Baptist needed flexibility in their communications about the event.

Many churches, small businesses, and nonprofits overlook having a simple, but beautiful video and photos like these, or don’t see to it that they are updated every few years. It’s a wise investment, saving you time and money over the long haul and helping you share your story in a more authentic and meaningful way.

In Memphis and need a video or photos? Let’s get you booked.

And if you’re in East Memphis, be sure to drop by Second Baptist for pumpkins, mums, and more every October! It’s a wonderful patch that is family-friendly and more meaningful than a big box store.
